SHARE Suspicious man approaches 10-year-old in Montgomery

A man approached a 10-year-old boy and tried to get the child into his SUV Monday afternoon near west suburban Montgomery.

The boy was walking in the 100 block of Saugatuck Road in an unincorporated area of Montgomery about 6:50 p.m. when a man told him to get into his vehicle, according to a statement from the Kendall County sheriff’s office.

The child ran away and the SUV drove away westbound on Saugatuck, according to the statement.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s or early 40s, with brown hair and brown eyes. His vehicle is described as a dark green Suburban or Tahoe with a broken driver’s side mirror and a partial license plate of “24H.”
