Dean Smith was always close with his North Carolina players. It showed even more on Thursday when the former Tar Heels coach, who died in February, willed each of his players a $200 check “to enjoy a dinner out.”


Smith’s will had 180 checks go out totaling $36,000.

No word yet if the NCAA has found a violation with any of this.
