The White House has announced that President Barack Obama will host a meeting with Pope Francis at the White House on Sept. 23.

It will be Pope Francis’ first visit to the United States as pope.

Francis is already scheduled to address a joint meeting of Congress on Sept. 24 and will address the annual United Nations General Assembly of world leaders on Sept. 25.

Obama and Francis previously met at the Vatican in March 2014.

Police responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 5900 block of South Ashland Avenue when they were shot at, police said. Five men were later taken into custody, two of whom were wounded. No officers were hurt.
