A 31-year-old man was shot in the shoulder in a drive-by attack early Friday in the West Englewood neighborhood.

About 2:05 a.m., he was a passenger in a car sitting in traffic in the 6700 block of South Damen when a gray vehicle pulled alongside him and someone inside opened fire, police said.

The driver took the injured man to his Gresham neighborhood home, where police were called.

He was then taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where his condition stabilized, police said.
