Lane closures began Monday on a three-mile stretch Golf Road in the north and northwest suburbs to allow for repaving work.

One lane will be closed in both directions of Golf Road from Potter Road to Lincoln Street until August, according to a statement from the Illinois Department of Transportation.

The three-mile stretch of roadway goes through parts of Glenview, Morton Grove and Niles, IDOT said. Crews will be patching pavement, milling the roadway and resurfacing.

Motorists should expect delays and allow for extra travel time, IDOT said.
