An elderly couple was injured in a fire early Tuesday in the Pullman neighborhood on the South Side.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation Tuesday afternoon, but there is no evidence of foul play, Fire Media Affairs Chief Larry Langford said.
Companies were called to the scene of the fire at a 1 ½-story building near 96th and Woodlawn at 5:06 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.
A 79-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman were both able to get out of the home on their own, and were taken to Trinity Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the fire department.
