A person was killed in a shooting Tuesday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, was found lying on the ground in the 1200 block of West 57th Street at 10:10 a.m., police said.

He had been shot several times and was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office could not immediately be reached to confirm the fatality.
