Police are searching for a man who sexually abused a 14-year-old boy in a Near North Side parking garage Monday evening.

A man approached the teen about 5:35 p.m. in the 100 block of West Chestnut and started talking with him, Area Central detectives said in a community alert.

He then lured the teen into the stairwell of a parking garage where an incident of sexual abuse took place, police said. The victim ran away and notified police.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black man in his early 20s, about 5-foot-4 and 150 pounds, police said. He has a horizontal scar across his nose and has a goatee.

The man was last seen wearing a red hat, a red shirt, a red zip-up hoodie and blue jeans, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at (312) 747-8380.
