SHARE Police: At least 7 homes burglarized in Belmont Cragin in February

A string of home burglaries were reported to police last month in the Northwest Side Belmont Cragin neighborhood.

Seven burglaries have occurred between Feb. 6 and Feb. 24, Area North detectives said in a community alert issued Tuesday night.

In each incident, at least one person has entered the homes—including apartment units—through windows or doors and taken electronics, jewelry, cash or other items, police said.

The burglaries happened on the following blocks:

-The 2400 block of North Marmora at 8 a.m. on Feb. 6;

-The 2100 block of North Latrobe between 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 12;

-The 3000 block of North Mango between 4 p.m. and 6:40 p.m. on Feb. 12;

-The 2600 block of North Parkside between 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Feb. 16;

-The 2700 block of North Lockwood between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 17;

-The 2900 block of North Long between 2 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on Feb. 20;

-The 5500 block of West Schubert between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Feb. 24.

Police advise residents to make sure all doors and windows are locked and to pay attention to people loitering in their area.
