The first regional title in Vernon Hills boys basketball program history was similar to that pesky fly that buzzes around a person’s head for hours.

For nearly 90 minutes Friday night, the Cougars went toe-to-toe with Antioch in the Class 3A Ridgewood Regional championship game. It wasn’t until the final few minutes that their 52-46 victory was a sure thing.
