North Chicago’s seven-year streak of 3A regional championships ended on Friday when DePaul Prep dominated the Warhawks from start to finish and earned a 63-40 victory in DePaul’s gym.

The Rams (22-8) will play Wednesday in the Vernon Hills Sectional while North Chicago (13-16) can look ahead to next year, as its 15-man roster on Friday included just one senior.

The outcome was never in doubt after the opening minutes. North Chicago started the game 0-for-8 from the field, 0-for-2 from the foul line, and had six turnovers in falling behind 11-0 with 1:15 to go in the first quarter.
