Police are searching for the driver of a semi that struck another vehicle and then drove off early Friday in the Fuller Park neighborhood on the South Side, leaving a woman in serious condition.

About 5 a.m., the woman, whose exact age wasn’t available, was driving south on Wentworth Avenue when a silver-blue semi without a trailer struck her vehicle at the 47th Street intersection, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The semi continued north on Wentworth before turning the wrong way down a one-way side street and heading west on Swann, the alert said. The woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Police said the semi has logos on the driver and passenger side doors and may have damage to its rear and passengers side after the crash.
