A 63-year-old man was shot to death Sunday in northwest Indiana.

Mario Martinez was shot in the 8600 block of Linden Avenue in Munster, Ind., according to the Lake County coroner’s office.

Munster police would not comment Sunday night but said more information would be released Monday morning.

Martinez, of the 5100 block of Dolphin Drive in Portage, Ind., was taken to Community Hospital in Munster, where he was pronounced dead at 6:50 p.m., the coroner’s office said.
