A man was shot in the face Sunday afternoon in the South Side Washington Park neighborhood.

The 40-year-old man was walking in the 6200 block of South King about 3 p.m. when two males walked up and opened fire, police said. The shooters ran away.

The man was shot in the face and taken in good condition to Stroger Hospital, police said.

The two men were shot Saturday in the 7100 block of South Peoria Street, police said.
The man, who apparently took his own life inside the building in the 4100 block of West Chicago Avenue had been the subject of more than 40 calls for service since January 2022, a police department source told the Sun-Times.
