A man was shot and seriously wounded Friday afternoon in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

The man, 24, was a passenger in a vehicle in the 1900 block of West 69th Street about 3 p.m., when an SUV drove up and someone inside fired shots, police said.

He was shot in the face and the driver took him in serious condition to Holy Cross Hospital, police said.
