A 17-year-old boy was shot in the Austin neighborhood Tuesday night.
About 9:20 p.m., the teen was getting into a car in the 6000 block of West Wabansia when he heard shots and realized he had been struck in the right shoulder, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, Alfaro said.
Police initially said two people were hurt in the shooting but corrected that information.
