Lane closures start Thursday evening on a stretch of Route 53/Route 7 in southwest suburban Crest Hill for a resurfacing project.
Traffic lanes will be reduced on the road, also known as North Broadway Street, between Caton Farm and Renwick Roads between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on weekdays and weekends, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Drivers could also experience occasional temporary lane closures during off-peak hours from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends, IDOT said. The project will wrap up by June 15.
Crews will be milling, patching and resurfacing the roadway, IDOT said. Drivers in the area should allow extra time.
