A man was seriously wounded in a Friday morning shooting in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The 24-year-old was in the 0-100 block of West 71st Street about 6 a.m. when he was approached by a male suspect who produced a handgun and shot him several times, police said.

He was listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to police.
