DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2015

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will tape an interview with Chris Matthews at the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce on the importance of passing trade promotion authority to pave the way for new, high-standards trade agreements that put American workers first and help American businesses expand. The travel pool will accompany.

In the afternoon, the President will welcome Kevin Harvick and his Stewart-Haas Racing team members to the White House to honor his 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship. This visit will continue the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring athletes and sports teams for their efforts to give back to their communities. This event on the South Lawn is open press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of Defense Carter in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Afterward, the President will hold a reception to thank the overwhelming majority in Congress from both sides of the aisle and partners who supported H.R. 2, the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 to improve the affordability and quality of health care for the youngest and oldest in the nation. There will be pooled press coverage of the President’s remarks in the Rose Garden.
