A man died Friday after he was shot near his home in the Marquette Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 26-year-old was outside in the 7000 block of South Talman about 10 a.m. when two people approached from behind and fired at him, according to authorities.

Rashad A. Abdullah, who lived on the same block, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 11:10 a.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
