Will Drake’s two-run homer ignites Neuqua Valley past Naperville North

The fine line between success and failure in baseball can be razor thin.

Consider what happened to Naperville North on Friday at Neuqua Valley.

With two outs in the fourth, Matt Pillatsch had Alex DiFranco picked off first but the throw from first hit DiFranco in the back, providing Neuqua a reprieve.

Will Drake took advantage, hitting a two-run homer off Pillatsch to snap a 1-1 tie and put the Wildcats in front for good en route to an 8-1 victory.

Tenant convicted of murdering, dismembering 69-year-old landlord in grisly Northwest Side case

After about seven and half hours of deliberations, the jury convicted Sandra Kolalou of all charges including first-degree murder, dismembering Frances Walker’s body, concealing a homicidal death and aggravated identity theft. Her attorney plans to appeal.
