Maine East d. Wheeling 25-9, 20-25, 25-14: Michael Boduch powered the Blue Demons (13-1, 4-0 Central Suburban North) to the win with 11 kills and three blocks.

Von Steuben d. Zion-Benton 19-25, 25-19, 25-15: Von Stueben (15-4) pulled off the upset of the Zee-Bees thanks to 14 kills and 16 blocks from Niko Anderson and 25 assists, 17 digs, and four blocks from Brian Orillana.

Vernon Hills d. Grant 25-15, 25-18: Adam Weinberg led the Cougars (12-5, 3-1 North Suburban) to the win with two aces and eight digs. Enrique Limon recorded five digs.

DOWNERS SOUTH

Glenbard East d. Joliet Central 25-17, 25-13: Justin Murphy tallied 14 kills and two blocks and Andrew Hurlburt finished with 23 assists in Glenbard East’s win.

Loyola d. Evanston 25-16, 25-16: A six-kill performance from Connor Kreb and a five-kill performance from Jakub Mazurek was good enough for the Ramblers (16-3). Jack Talaga contributed 17 assists for good measure.

Loyola d. Maine West 25-17, 25-17: Mazurek’s 10 kills and four blocks helped power the Ramblers past Maine West. Thomas Martin also had a solid outing with seven kills.

Naperville North d. Lyons 25-22, 23-25, 25-15: Mike Jennings (13 kills) and Kent Lang (seven kills) carried Naperville North over Lyons. Philippe Russian chipped in four kills and four blocks.

Naperville North d. Oak Lawn 25-11, 25-10: Efforts from Frank Dore (seven kills), Spencer Munroe (three kills), and Andy Leon (three kills) were good enough for Naperville North.

PALATINE

Stevenson d. Fremd 25-21, 25-17: Grant Maleski tallied eight kills and three digs and Jesse Kesner collected seven kills and three digs in the win for the Patriots.

Stevenson d. Waubonsie Valley 25-20, 25-17: Jesse Kesner helped power the Patriots past the Warriors with six kills and four digs. Grant Maleski added five kills and three digs.
