Jacobs holds off Huntley

Innings of drizzling precipitation could have made things difficult for Jacobs right hander Ryan George, but other than asking for a fresh baseball more frequently, the senior starter looked unaffected by the gray conditions around him.

“I had to be a lot more soft on my front side,” George said of any adjustments he made. “My shoes were just caked in mud, I was spinning all over the place, and there’s really nothing you can do about that so I just tried to embrace it and work through it.”

George worked six innings and earned the victory as the Golden Eagles remained undefeated in conference play by beating Huntley 5-2 in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division game at Huntley.
