Police are cautioning North Side taxi drivers after a pair of cabbies were robbed at knifepoint in separate incidents last week in Ravenswood and West Ridge.

In both robberies, a man has pulled a knife on cabbies after arriving at his destination, according to a business alert from Chicago Police.

The first robbery happened about 6 a.m. on April 19 in the 2800 block of West Ardmore, the alert said. It was carried out by a 6-feet tall, 140-pound black man who is between 18 and 25 years old, police said. He was wearing a blue hoodie, gray sweatpants and was carrying a brown satchel, police said.

The second incident happened about 9:30 p.m. on April 23 in the 2400 block of West Eastwood, by a black man between 18 and 20 years old in a black baseball cap and a Chicago Bulls jacket, police said.
