A 20-year-old man is in serious condition after a Monday afternoon shooting in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

The man was in a car about 12:40 p.m. in the 4400 block of South Cottage Grove when another vehicle pulled alongside and someone inside opened fire, striking the man in the neck and shoulder, police said.

He was taken to a hospital, but further details were not immediately available.
