A 24-year-old man was shot several times and critically injured in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side early Monday.

About 3:55 a.m., he was walking in the 900 block of West Wilson when someone in a silver car opened fire, striking him in “the hip and scrotum area,” police said.

He was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital in critical condition, police said.
