A west suburban man was sentenced to four years in prison Friday for sexually abusing a child he knew.
Travis A. Armstrong, 31, of Aurora was given the sentence in exchange for pleading guilty to a felony count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office said.
Armstrong engaged in sexual acts with the victim in January 2014, prosecutors said. He was acquainted with the victim, who was younger than 17 at the time.
Armstrong, most recently of the 400 block of North River Street in Aurora, must register as a sexual offender for life, the state’s attorney’s office said. He will receive credit for about a year spent in jail since his arrest.
