A man was shot to death near his home in the University Village neighborhood on the Near West Side on Wednesday afternoon.
The 25-year-old was shot in the back and abdomen at 12:07 p.m. while standing in a parking lot in the 1200 block of West Washburne, police said.
Eric Washington, who lived in the same block, was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:45 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
