A man died after he was shot in the chest on Lake Shore Drive on the North Side early Thursday.

The 27-year-old was driving in the 4800 block of North Lake Shore Drive at 3:45 a.m. when he was shot, police said.

He took himself to Weiss Memorial Hospital, but was transferred to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said. He was pronounced dead at 7:34 a.m.

He was identified as Boshaun Jackson, of the 4400 block of North Clifton, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
