Chicago Police are investigating after shots were fired Wednesday near the Cook County Jail on the West Side.

Two men were walking in the 2600 block of South California Boulevard a few minutes after 11 a.m. when shots were fired in their direction from a passing SUV, police said.

No one was struck by the gunfire, police said.

The Cook County Jail is located at 26th and California, but the shooting happened off the jail property, police sad.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
