Man hurt in Pullman shooting

A man was hurt in a shooting in the Pullman neighborhood on the South Side Wednesday afternoon.

The man, 33, was standing on the street in the 9900 block of South Ellis Avenue about 3:25 p.m. when three people walked up to him, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

They exchanged words and one of the three pulled out a gun and started shooting, Zala said.

The man was shot in the ankle and taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Zala said.
