A man was killed when his SUV crashed into a pole early Thursday in the West Town neighborhood.

The 37-year-old was driving northbound in the 600 block of North Milwaukee about 3:10 a.m. when he lost control of the SUV, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The SUV hit a pole and a parked truck before coming to a stop, Alfaro said.

Ramon Flores, of the 3400 block of West Schubert, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m., according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

No other injuries were reported. The police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is handling the incident.
