Man hurt in Hermosa shooting

A man was shot Friday afternoon in the Hermosa neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

The man, in his 30s, was crossing the street in the 4400 block of West Armitage about 5:30 p.m. when someone in a passing vehicle shot him, police News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon said.

He was shot in the foot and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center for treatment, Lemmon said.

A police source said the man shot is a documented gang member and is not cooperating with authorities.
