A man was seriously wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon in the Garfield Park neighborhood on the West Side.

The 20-year-old was shot in the back about 1:40 p.m. in the 500 block of North Hamlin, police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.
