Man shot in knee in Austin

A man was shot early Sunday in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.

The 23-year-old man was shot in the 0-100 block of North Long about 4:35 a.m. when a male walked up, pulled out a gun and fired multiple times in his direction, police said.

The man was shot in the right knee and a female acquaintance drove him to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where his condition stabilized.
