A man and a teenager were shot and seriously wounded Monday afternoon in the South Shore neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 12:20 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Chappel, according to preliminary information from police.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the buttocks, and a 20-year-old man was shot in the chest, police said. They were both taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
