A North Side man is accused of exposing himself to two teenage girls and masturbating last month at a YMCA in north suburban Evanston.

Tony G. Allen, 33, has been charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of failure to register as a sex offender, all felonies, according to Evanston police.

About 8:45 p.m. on April 20, two girls, ages 15 and 16, were using exercise equipment at the YMCA at 100 Grove St. when they saw Allen with his penis exposed and masturbating, a statement from police said.

The girls reported the incident to YMCA staff, who called police as Allen ran away, police said.

Detectives watched surveillance footage of the incident and Allen was arrested about noon Wednesday in the 1500 block of Sherman Avenue in Evanston, police said.

When he was arrested, investigators determined Allen, of the 7500 block of North Ridge, was considered an unregistered sex offender because he had not updated his address. Court information was not immediately available.
