Two Milwaukee men were charged with burglary after a security system at a west suburban office building caught them during the break-in, police said.

Kenneth Johnson, 20, and Arthur Ward, 27, were both charged with felony burglary for the incident about 9 p.m. Sunday at 120 W. 22nd Street in Oak Brook, according to a statement from police.

A security company alerted the office building’s property manager that motion-activated cameras indicated someone was inside, and the man called police, the statement said.

The manager was able to watch part of the video feed and give the suspects’ descriptions to police, who arrived and found one of the men in the vestibule, police said. He was immediately arrested, as was a second man who fled onto the Tri-State Tollway.

A woman in the car with him was taken into custody, but was arrested without being charged, police said.

Both Johnson and Ward are being held on the DuPage County jail on $5,000 bonds, according to the DuPage County sheriff’s office.

Authorities do not believe the incident is connected to other similar burglaries in the area.
