Cooking Light magazine asked local experts to choose the best farmer’s market in each state for its June issue– and the Illinois winner is… The Logan Square Farmer’s Market.

Shopping at farmer’s markets can be a great way to find cooking inspiration while keeping your produce selections local and seasonal. Logan Square’s market aims to connect people of all different socioeconomic levels with healthy and nutritious food.

The market draws vendors from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan, bringing things like lamb, blueberries, goat milk soaps, olive oils and organic produce.

The market, which is located on Logan Boulevard one block east of Milwaukee Avenue, runs every Sunday from May 17 through October 25. It is open every Sunday, rain or shine.
