A Southwest Side man died Monday, more than nine months after he was shot while driving in the LeClaire Courts neighborhood where he lived.

Eric Langham, 22, told authorities he was shot July 21, 2014, while he was driving near the area of 46th Street and Laporte, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

He pulled into a parking lot in the 5100 block of South Cicero, where he called police, the medical examiner’s office said.

Langham, of the 4400 block of South Lavergne Avenue, died Monday at 6:45 p.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy Tuesday found that he died of complications of multiple gunshot wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

Chicago Police had no immediate information on the shooting Tuesday afternoon.
