An elderly Rogers Park man died last week after he fell and struck his head on a passing truck in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood.

Jonathan Braslavsky, 77, died Thursday, nine days after the traffic accident about 1 p.m. May 5 in the 3200 block of West Fullerton, authorities said.

He had difficulty walking, and was in the street trying to get into his vehicle when he fell backwards, police News Affairs Officer Stacey Cooper said.

As he fell, he struck his head on a passing work truck that was westbound on Fullerton, Cooper said.

Braslavsky, of the 1700 block of West Albion, died Thursday morning at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Friday ruled the death an accident and found he died of head injuries.
