CTA worker electrocuted working on Brown Line L tracks in Lincoln Park

A contract worker for the CTA was electrocuted Saturday afternoon while working on the Brown Line L tracks near North and Halsted in Lincoln Park.

Kevin Benoit, 30, of Midlothian, was electrocuted shortly before 5 p.m., according to the Chicago Fire Department and CTA spokeswoman Tammy Chase.

The CTA had crews working all weekend, as it has in recent weeks, along the Brown Line as part of its Ravenswood Connector Rehabilitation Project, with trains diverted into the subway on the Red Line tracks between Fullerton and downtown all weekend.
