CLEARWATER, Fla. — A Chicago man has died after authorities say his boat got stuck in southwest Florida.

Alton Rodgers Jr. was found unconscious in the water near the Seminole boat docks on Saturday. Clearwater police said he jumped off his boat to try to free it from a sandbar and he started having trouble in the water.

The 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital.
