Milton Bradley says disturbing things about dead ex-wife

Former Cubs player Milton Bradley was sentenced to 32 months in jail in 2013 after being found guilty of multiple domestic violence charges against his ex-wife, Monique Bradley, who died that same year.

Bradley, who remained free while the case was being appealed, was ordered to begin his sentence last week, according to SI’s Michael McKnight.

In an effort to put off the sentence and retain custody of his two children, Bradley addressed the court with these words about his ex-wife, via SI:

Ray Rice slaps the hell out of a woman, you know. I didn’t do that. I’m not Ray Rice. Greg Hardy beats up a woman. I didn’t do that. You know what I’m saying? It’s obvious to everyone this is a complete farce. This woman is an alcoholic. She drank every single day.

The judge overseeing the hearing responded, via SI:

Well, Mr. Bradley, the fact that you’re saying things like that is, to me, not a good sign.
