Charlie Weis is living the life. He’s unemployed but still bringing in big paychecks.

A USA Today report shows Weis is still the highest paid employee at Notre Dame even though he was fired in 2009. Weis is collecting more money from Notre Dame than current head football coach Brian Kelly.

According to the school’s tax records, he received more than $6.6 million pay and severance in 2009. He subsequently has been paid nearly $8.4 million by Notre Dame from 2010 through 2013.

Notre Dame isn’t the only school still paying Weis for his past coaching duties. The University of Kansas fired Weis in 2014 after a 6-22 record. KU is still paying Weis his $7 million owed on his contract through 2016.

Weis said he’s done coaching, so all the football programs looking to waste their money should look somewhere else.
