Woman hurt in Skokie shooting

Police say a shooting that left an 18-year-old woman wounded in north suburban Skokie may have been accidental.

Officers responded to a call of a person shot about 10:25 p.m. and found the woman near the intersection of Main Street and Skokie Boulevard, according to a statement from Skokie police.

The woman was likely shot by someone known to her and who lives near the area where officers found her, police said.

The Niles woman was taken to a hospital where her condition had stabilized.

No one is in custody and further details were not available Saturday morning.
