A man was shot to death early Saturday in northwest Indiana.

London Clayton, 49, suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the 1300 block of Virginia Street in Gary, according to a statement from the Lake County (Ind.) coroner’s office.

Clayton, of the 4800 block of West 23rd Avenue in Gary, was taken to Methodist Hospital – Northlake, where he was pronounced dead at 12:15 a.m., according to the statement.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Gary police were not immediately available for additional information.
