A 27-year-old man was wounded in a drive-by shooting late Saturday in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side.

He was driving a car northbound about 10:15 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Wood when someone in a passing dark-colored van opened fire, police said.

The man was struck in the upper back and left arm and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, police said.

The attack happened within minutes of an accidental shooting about two blocks north.
