A man was rescued Wednesday morning from a catwalk along the Chicago River in the Loop.

The man, whose age was not immediately available, either fell or jumped and landed on the catwalk at Jackson Boulevard and the river at 7:36 a.m., according to Fire Media Affairs.

He suffered major trauma and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital, Fire Media said.
