SHARE Police warn of Albany Park burglaries

Police are warning residents about a series of burglaries reported this month in the Albany Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

In two of the break-ins, two burglars have pried open victims’ doors to gain entry to homes, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. In two other incidents, they entered through unlocked doors. They have taken jewelry, cash, laptops and small electronic devices.

The break-ins were reported:

  • In the 4700 block of North Elston between 6:55 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. May 5;
  • In the 4500 block of North Keokuk about 4:55 a.m. May 10;
  • In the 4400 block of West Leland between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. May 16; and
  • In the 4600 block of North Kennicott between 11 a.m. and 11:45 p.m. May 17.

One of the suspects is described as a male about 6-foot-5 and 165 pounds, police said The other is about 5-foot-10 and weighs 150 to 107 pounds. Thy were seen driving off in a small black vehicle.
